Q: What are the dimensions and weight of the machine?

Q: What comes in the box?

Q: Does my machine have to be connected to the internet to work?
- You can access a limited assortment of quilting presets - or other favorite shapes that you preset - directly from the machine without being connected to the internet. You can access these presets through the LCD screen located on the cutting machine.
- To make full use of your SINGER MOMENTO cutting machine, you will want to take advantage of the mySewnet family of digital tools, including the free design software and content library featuring images, projects, fonts and more. You must have a computer or tablet connected to the internet to access mySewnet. You can then connect your computer or tablet to your machine via WiFi OR using the included USB cord.
Q: How do I reset my machine?
There are two ways to reset the machine:
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Machine will beep and turn off.
- Select the gear icon in the upper right corner and select About. At the bottom of the screen there will be a Reset default on the bottom. Select, and it will ask you to confirm to reset to factory default. After about 10 seconds, the machine will turn off and back on, giving 3 quick beeps. Dual tool holder will travel from left to right and back to the left, beep, and the screen will be at the initial Home screen.
Q: Can I use non-SINGER MOMENTO blades, pens or scoring tips on my machine?
No, the SINGER MOMENTO blades, pens and scoring tip are specifically designed for the Momento Craft Cutting machine. Other brands of tools will not be compatible with this machine. Also, for best performance and warranty purposes, it is recommended to only use SINGER MOMENTO tools in the dual carriage compartments of your cutting machine.
Q: How do I know if my machine is up to date?
- You can check the machine version either through the software or from the machine itself.
- In the software, in the output screen, you can click Machine Information. Please ensure that your machine is on and connected to WiFi.
- From the machine itself, select the gear in the upper right corner for the system information and then select About to see the machine information.
- If there is an update for the machine, on the output screen in the software select Update Firmware and it will send the update to the machine and give you instructions on installing the update. Your machine must be On and connected to WiFi for your computer to apply updates.
Crafting Questions
Q: Can I choose the test cut design or does it test cut my design?
No, the test cut is a small square that defaults to the upper left hand corner.
Q: What is the maximum size I can cut with and without a mat?
- With a mat is 24”x24”
- Without a mat is 24”x 144”. Please note that material must be adhesive-backed (such as vinyl, HTV, or sticker paper) in order to be cut without a mat.
Q: Can I use a pen and blade at the same time?
Yes, you can have a pen in the left tool holder and a blade in the right tool holder. This will allow you to draw and then cut your design.
Q: Can I use the pen adapter that comes with the machine in the right tool holder to draw with this side?
No, the right tool holder pen adaptor should only be used for calibration of the camera for the Print-Then-Cut feature.
Q: How thick of material can I cut with my machine?
Momento can cut materials up to 3mm thick
Q: Can I use any brand of vinyl on my machine?
Yes, you can use any brand of vinyl that you would like with the SINGER MOMENTO craft cutting machine.
Software Questions
Q: How do I save a favorite project or cut to my Momento's LCD Screen?
- A cut must be sent to the machine and cut out in order to save it as a Favorite.
- Once the machine has cut the project, press Repeat Last Cut on the LCD screen
- Then select Save
- Select which position on the Favorites screen you would like to save your design in for quick and easy access whenever you want.
Q: Can I use my machine without the mySewnet software?
- You can access a limited assortment of quilting presets - or other favorite shapes that you preset - directly from the machine without being connected to the internet and without using the mySewnet software. You can access these presets through the LCD screen located on the cutting machine.
- To make full use of your SINGER MOMENTO cutting machine, you will want to take advantage of the mySewnet family of digital tools, including the free design software and content library featuring images, projects, fonts and more. You must have a desktop computer or tablet connected to the internet, and create a free mySewnet account, in order to access the mySewnet tools.
Cleaning Questions
Q: How do I clean the pinchwheels?
If the pinchwheels appear to be collecting dirt, debris, or fibers, you can unlock the pinchwheels and use an alcohol wipe to clean the pinchwheels. Just make sure that materials and mats are removed from the machine and the machine is Off before attempting to clean it.
Q: How do I clean mats?
To clean the mats you can use mild soap and warm water. You can also use baby wipes. Do not scrape the fabric mat, as you could inadvertently remove the tack from the mat.
Troubleshooting
Q: Why is my machine not cutting cleanly?
- Check the mat to confirm you are using the correct mat grip strength for the material you are cutting. If the material is moving on the mat, then move up to the next level of tack. For example, if you were using the light grip mat, try the standard grip mat. Please see our Mat Compatibility Chart for more information.
- Check your blade - blades can wear down and need to be replaced regularly. Also, check the blade for any visible debris and remove carefully if necessary. Finally, confirm that you are using the correct blade for the material you are attempting to cut. Please see our Blade Compatibility Chart for more information.
Q: Why is my machine feeding my mat in and spitting it back out completely? It doesn't stay under the pinchwheels.
- Check that the second pinchwheel is not positioned over the sensor. This will cause it to eject the mat and the roller to keep spinning.
- Also check that the correct size mat has been selected.
Q: Why is my machine making a grinding noise, not feeding my mat, and displaying an error message when I try to Load my Mat?
- Ensure your pinch wheels are lowered. The pinch wheel lever on the back of your machine should be in a raised position in order for the pinch wheels to be lowered. If the pinch wheels are up, the mat will not load properly.
Q: I see the green light on my specialty blade or tool (the rotary blade, engraving tool, and debossing tool), does this mean the blade is locked in place?
A: When inserting a specialty blade or tool, the green light means that the blade is inserted into the socket properly but does not mean that the blade is locked in place. You will need to ensure that the blade is correctly inserted into the socket, denoted by the green light, and that the locking mechanism is pushed closed and the blade is locked in place. You can double-check to confirm that the blade is securely locked in place by gently pulling on the blade to ensure it isn't loose or can be pulled out.
Q: Why is my locking mechanism not closing or locking when I am trying to insert a specialty blade or tool (the rotary blade, engraving tool, and debossing tool)?
A: You should hear and feel a distinct click, indicating that the mechanism is securely closed and the blade is locked in place. If you don't hear or feel the click indicating proper locking, apply firm pressure to the locking mechanism. This extra push can help ensure that the mechanism is fully engaged and securely locks the blade in place. After pushing firmly, you can double-check to confirm that the blade is securely locked in place by gently pulling on the blade to ensure it isn't loose or can be pulled out.
